Late July Fire Extinguished Under Minot’s Corner

 

July 28, 6:56 p.m. – Lightning struck a tree on Boston Road, with the tree hanging on a wire over a house.

A forestry company was notified.

July 28, 7:54 p.m. – Just down the street, firefighters responded to a transformer fire in a manhole near Alltown Mobil at the corner of Littleton and Boston roads.

No word was given on the cause of the fire.

July 29, 1:44 p.m. – Firefighters were summoned to the East Boston Camps after a person in the area heard what sounded like a fire alarm.

It turned out to be a malfunctioning smoke detector that had been thrown into a trash barrel.

Aug. 8, 10:23 p.m.-A lawnmower caught fire at a home on Providence Road.After investigation, the cause of the fire was not determined.
