The Noise on Bates Lane Was Just A Vacuum Cleaner…

The following are excerpts from the Westford Fire Department Log for the week of July 20-27

July 23, 9:15 a.m. – A crew was dispatched to Long Meadow Road to help a homeowner extinguish a small brush fire.

The cause of the fire was not released.

July 24, 10:03 p.m. – There was a fuel leak in the basement of a home on Wayne Road. Firefighters later helped with ventilation.

July 25, 7:45 p.m. –  A homeowner on Bates Lane was concerned about a noise coming from a nearby condo.

Turns out, it was just a central vacuum cleaner. The firefighters turned it off.

July 27, 5:20 p.m. – There were reports of a natural gas odor on Avalon Way, but none could be detected after an investigation.
