Candidate Events, A Forge Village Meeting And A Change For Parents To Experience Westford Academy

From Nabnasset to Forge Village, here are your Five Things for Sept. 19, 2014 in Westford.

 

#1. Forge Village Residents and Businesses …. The Westford Economic Development Committee and the Forge Village Residents Association will host an informal meeting at the Cameron Senior Center at 20 Pleasant Street on Wednesday October 1, 2014, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

The purpose of the event is to discuss the makeup of Forge Village, the current rules and regulations (such as zoning districts and types of businesses allowed), and get residents’ ideas about the long term look and feel of the Village.

Come and share your thoughts and ideas for life in the Village – now and in the future.

#2. Meet The Candidate: Former Westford Director of Land Use Management and qweqwecurrent Candidate for Lieutenant Governor Angus Jennings will be on hand this Saturday, Sept. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. to answer questions from local voters at Liquid Landscape Designs at 69 Broadway Street.

#3. Meet Other Candidates: League of Women of Voters (LWV) will host a Legislative Candidates’ Forum on Sunday, October 5, 2014, 2:00-4:00 p.m., at the Willard School Auditorium, 185 Powder Mill Road, Concord, MA.

 

Invited candidates that will be on the ballot of Westford voters are Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, Democrat from Lowell, and her challenger, Ann Wofford, Republican from Haverhill. They’ll be joined by candidates that will face voters from other areas in the Commonwealth.

 

The LWV of Concord-Carlisle is the hosting sponsor of the forum and the LWVs of Andover/North Andover, Acton Area, Harvard, Sudbury and Westford are co-sponsors.

 

Voters may send suggested questions for the candidates to questions@lwvcc.org by 5:00 p.m. on October 3.

 

#4. For Parents Of Westford Academy Sophomores and Juniors… there will be a Back to School event at Westford Academy on Oct. 2.

After a welcoming by administration from 3 to 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium, the parents will visit their child’s classes for just under two hours in a mock “G” day schedule, hearing from each teacher.

Parents of freshmen and seniors are invited to do the same at 6:30 p.m.
