Charges Dropped Related To 2012 Crash on 495 That Killed Westford Man

The Lowell Sun is reporting that Newburyport resident Jeffrey Plante will no longer face charges related to a 2012 crash that killed a Westford man.

Plante, 37, passed out behind the wheel and was found to have had an “unexpected cardiac episode” during the accident, where he crossed a median on 495 in Methuen, killing then 32-year-old Westford resident Kurt Kelly.

Kelly was born in Cambridge and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School, earning a bachelor’s degree in business from Quinnipiac University in 2004.

He was a financial officer for the family business in Haverhill and left behind his wife, who he married in 2009, and a then four-month-old son.
