Food trucks don’t often make the rounds in Westford, but this Saturday is not your average day.
Westford residents can partake in the hot new trend without having to go farther than the Abbot School parking lot this weekend as the first annual Westford Food Truck festival comes to town.
The event will take place rain or shine from noon to 5 p.m.
Area food vendors such as Jamaica Mi Hungry, Mess Haul, Meanie Panini, Aunties Sweet Shop, Spiceventure, Sal’s Pizza, Chicken on the Road will be on hand as well as a few more in the event designed to help the Westford Fund as well as several other non-profit groups.
There will also be Kimball Farm’s famous “Roaming Railroad” for the kids, a Halloween parade, music and Westford’s own Fashion Truck.
For Emily Benson, owner of the Fashion Truck and organizer of the event, the reaction to this idea has been a pleasant surprise.
“I’m already overwhelmed at the positive response to something we’ve been planning for months,” said Benson. “I knew the community in Westford would embrace the truck trend, whether it be food or fashion.”
