Westford Police have released a statement surrounding the arrest of a Forge Village man believed to be part of a heroin distribution operation.
Derek King, 38, of Pond Street was arrested on Tuesday for alleged possession of a Class A & E substance with intent to distribute.
Police were called to Pleasant Street at approximately 10:27 p.m. on Tuesday for a reported past home invasion and as part of the investigation, the Westford K-9 Unit was deployed and the investigation went to Pond Street for reasons not explained in the release.
There, the home owner provided consent for a search.
After looking inside, 61.08 grams of heroin, packaged in approximately 10 gram batches known as “fingers” were discovered along with other prescription narcotics, paraphrenalia and packaging material.
The investigation into the home investigation is ongoing, there were no injuries in the arrest.
