From Nabnasset to Forge Village, here are your Six Things for Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 in Westford

#1. Bus Tour of Westford Climb aboard the Roudenbus and learn about conservation and recreation spots in Westford, as well as the history of the town’s transformation from farm town to mill town to the Westford of today. Hosted by Ellen Harde, 47 year resident and co-author of “Westford – A Sense of Community”. $10 for out of towners, $7 for residents, and $5 for students. It takes place on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

#2. What Does Teen Dating Look Like Today?… Would you know the warning signs? Join Maria Crooker from Lowell’s Alternative House for a frank discussion about the topic as well as ways your kids can remain safe while building healthy relationships.

The event is sponsored by the Westford Coalition for Non-Violence, the DSC_0001Westford Health Department and the Westford Parent Connection.

It will take place at the Stony Brook Middle School Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4

#3. Boy Scout Troop 159… is holding a Winter Sporting Goods Sale at the First Parish Church United on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Check in is 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 7 to 9 a.m. on Saturday. Call 857-241-6834 for more information.

#4. Give Your Old Shoes The Boot and Help Raise Money For Westford Schools… the Westford Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is looking for old shoes that they can recycle.

Those shoes are resold, with part of the proceeds going to Westford’s schools.

#6. The Fame Music Café… is returning to the Parish Center for the Arts on Friday, Oct. 24 from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at http://www.westford.com/fame. All proceeds directly support the music students, teachers, and programs of the Westford Public Schools.
