The following information came from the Westford Police Department. Anyone arrested is considered innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.

July 21, 11:22 p.m. – An employee at the Westford Regency requested that a car parked underneath a canopy. However, police told the employee that the car could not be towed unless there was signage indicating that the car would be towed if it was parked in that location or the driver was given 72 hours notice.

It was unclear where signage was at the location.

The employee eventually found the owner of the car, who moved the vehicle.

July 22, 3:33 p.m. – While on patrol, two officers were dispatched to Graniteville Materials after reports of a man falling into a hole and breaking his arm.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that the man was opening a canopy on a 40 foot semi-trailer when the canopy began to retract uncontrollably. Eventually it struck his arm and he lost his footing.

One of the officers said he would file a report with the Mine Safety Health Administration. An inspector of the Department of Massachusetts Industrial Accidents was called. The inspector said that all equipment used by the man were in compliance with state regulations.

July 24, 9:30 a.m. – A woman reported that her pocket book went missing after she went to the Primrose Car Wash on Lan Drive. It was discovered several hours later.

July 24, 8:39 p.m. – Two officers were dispatched to Fletcher’s Quarry after reports of trespassers. Three more officers arrived to help search the property, located on Groton Road.

The person who called police said he was working at his stone cutting station and observed three people near the opening to the access road nearby. Since it was dark, he was unable to provide further details on their appearance.

Three men were found near ballfields at Greystone, the housing development next to the quarry.

They told one of the officers that they were on the property and no one else was with them. No property damage was observed. Verbal no trespassing orders were given and the men were released.

July 26, 4:00 p.m. – Two residents talked to police regarding a neighbor, who they said had become increasingly agitated as of late.

Specifically, they referred to an incident where a guest had parked on the street in front of their house near the neighbor’s house and the neighbor “peeled out” near the guest’s vehicle, later learning from the neighbor that he could not “squeeze by” the vehicle easily.

No further assistance was needed, but the residents wanted this to be documented.
