His friends know him simple as “Wubbs,” But Nabnasset is beginning to know him as a young entrepreneur.

For the past few weeks, 12-year-old Ryan Walsh has been seen near the field at Old Nab on Plain Road operating his business, “Wub’s Wagon.”

After obtaining clearance from the health inspector’s office, Ryan began to start selling drinks and snacks to passing motorists out of a small plastic cooler with wheels.

Living nearby on Edwards Avenue, Ryan migrated through several locations in Nabnasset before settling on his location between the field and the Roudenbush Children’s Center.

On a good day, Ryan can make around $15 an hour and as of late August he was up to around $200 overall. But his long term goal is to combine his love of cooking and vehicles and get a food truck.

“Once I can drive, I want to get an actual  truck,” he said. “For now, I just want to get as much money as I can.

Despite the beginning of school, Ryan is hoping to continue operating his business, expecting to shift into a 3 to 5 p.m. schedule as often as possible.
