The following information came from the Westford Police Department. Anyone arrested is considered innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.

Aug. 29, 6:49 p.m. – Officers were dispatched to West Street for reports of a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, the officers observed the driver sitting on a stone wall.

His vehicle was in the middle of the road facing north, severely damaged after contact with a utility pole.

The vehicle’s front grill bore the brunt of the damage, and the passenger side front tire was completely torn off its rim. Glass from the windshield was also all over the road, and the pole had also been damaged from the crash.

Marks on the road and the amount of damage indicated that the vehicle was going at a high rate of speed and veered into the wrong side of the road but did not brake, eventually going off the road entirely before returning to the road and crossing the middle of the road again before hitting the pole.

The driver and his passenger did not suffer any injuries and the driver said he was going 45 miles per hour.

Although the driver said he did not have any drinks before driving, a fellow officer said he could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath.

The driver submitted to a field sobriety test and passed.

Due to the evidence at the scene, the officer told the driver he was lucky not to have injuries and he could have harmed himself or others.

A citation was issued for criminal charges relating to the incident, the vehicle was towed.

Sept. 2, 8:01 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to Texas Road after reports of a breaking and entering in progress given by a neighbor. While en route, the officer learned that the homeowner called police and said the suspect was a neighbor dropping off vegetables. This was later confirmed.

Sept. 6, 10:09 p.m. – While arresting an individual several days earlier, police found a BIC pen tube that contained an unknown substance. After an analysis, it was discovered that the substance contained opiates.

The individual was given a separate summons on top of the previous charges.
