On Saturday, October 3, 2015 Nashoba Youth Hockey Peewee team sent four players to the District 8 Mini one-on-one (actually three on three format) District 8 Tournament.   The Nashoba Pee Wee team, Sam Cioffi, Derek Peterson and Dante Strong were the skaters for the tournament and Christian Guglielmo had their backs in Goal.  First in line for Nashoba to beat was Triboro – and it wasn’t an easy game.  Cioffi scored 1 minute and 21 seconds into the game and did his best to make smart neutral zone passes throughout the game.

Peterson had some amazing defensive plays and cut off two break-away plays to ensure Triboro did not have the opportunity to score as well as having a few shots on net.  Strong did everything he could to keep the puck in the offensive zone and had three shots on net. Guglielmo had 6 saves and his first tournament game ended in a shut-out.  Up next was Acton-Boxboro and the game ended the same way as the first game – Nashoba 1 Acton Boxboro 0.  Strong scored at 2:05, Cioffi and Peterson did what they could from that point on to just play smart and help Guglielmo defend the Nashoba’ s lead.  Guglielmo came away from the second game with another shut-out.  Next up – the state finals at TD Garden.
