The BU-10 Destroyers continued their winning streak this past weekend with a 3-1 win over Chelmsford. Chelmsford started the scoring in the first period, with Westford’s Fredrick Thiruthuvadas tying it up by halftime. Aiden Emanouil played a great first half in net.
In the second half, Sanjay Vijayabala scored to give Westford the lead. Fredrick scored again late in the game with an assist from Avril Agarwal to secure the win. Ethan Koehr finished in goal, keeping Chelmsford scoreless in the second half. Tristan Caldwell, Isak Bloom, Brain Ma and Andrew Tang all had great games in the center. While Bhavik Kancharla, Nathaniel Li and Alex Popelka played a great defensively.
With two games left in the season the boys are really coming together as a team!
Chelmsford 2, Westford Girls’ U10 Team Three 0
Submitted by Andy Mallio
Undefeated Westford Girls U10 T3 lost to undefeated Chelmsford Girls U10 T2 2-0 on Saturday October 24th at Jack Walsh field in Westford. The game was played on a calm, overcast, and cold day; the temperature was a chilly 32 degrees at the start. This was an intense and physical game by two talented and disciplined teams providing all the excitement and energy of a playoff game.
In the first half, strikers Olivia Dempster and Erin Keefe had good shots on goal. Caroline Mallio, Martha Khusid, Sydney Rokita, and Sarah Foley, midfielders, moved the ball well passing up to the strikers and hustling back to help out on defense. Defenders Ava Russo, Marie Morris, Audrey Smagula, and Sarah Foley played excellent defense limiting Chelmsford scoring opportunities while Kassidy Carmichael had a great day in goal saving many shots. The teams battled back and forth, each team having their chances to score and each team playing excellent defense. It looked like the first half would end in a zero-zero tie until Chelmsford was finally able to score one goal at the 20th minute.
The second half was much like the first, with neither team dominating the other. Chelmsford was able to score their second goal at the 40th minute but the Westford girls did not give up. They continued with strong defense against Chelmsford’s attacks and created scoring opportunities and taking their shots until the very end of the game.

The Westford U12 T10 boys continued its home winning streak by beating Reading at Nutting field in Westford on October 24th.
Westford had more control of the game than Reading in the first half of play. Westford’s strong defense from Landon Chwalek, Nitish Naik, and Tyler Treible prevented Reading from having real scoring opportunities. Westford’s offense, Adrian Anoti, Mathew Fan, Shivam Ratnani, Danny Cutbill and Brendan Whitmore created good offensive opportunities but weren’t able to score against Reading’s goalie who saved many strong shots. The first half ended in a zero-zero tie.
