On Tuesday, Nancy Cook was announced as the 2016 Westford Kiwanis Person of the Year.

Nancy has served the town as Town Clerk and Registrar of Voters as well as in roles on the Permanent Town Building Committee, Westford Council on Aging, Westford 9-11 Monument Committee among others.

She also has played a significant role in State Representative Jim Arciero’s Lowell Sun Santa Toys for Tots fundraiser for the past several years and has personally raised over $34,000 personally for suicide prevention efforts.

In 2011, she was honored by the Massachusetts State Legislature with the Massachusetts Unsung Heroine Award.

Cook will be honored shortly after the Apple Blossom Parade on Saturday morning at the Abbot School field.
