When my wife and I bought our home, Westford was simply “love at first sight”. We moved here for the outstanding educational opportunities which would be provided to our children. We loved the country like feeling we got when we first visited Westford looking for a place to call our home. In addition, we were thrilled by the community spirit seen in events like the Apple Blossom Festival, the Strawberry and Arts Festival and the Westford Farmers Market. My family and I often walk up Boston Road to the Town Common to enjoy these events. We were so happy that many wonderful neighbors welcomed us here in 2013.

I walk with my family and our dog on Boston Road and I see kids playing in their front yards all the time. My daughter would often stop by at many houses on our walks to say hello to her classmates.

Lately though, my wife are very anxious and disappointed to learn that we are going to get a huge Restaurant, Banquet Hall and Bar right next door to our home. We have always had an issue with drivers turning their cars into our yard to correct themselves when they find that they are lost or have missed their turn. With this Restaurant, Banquet Hall and Bar, I am afraid that we are going to get more U-turns into our driveway. I am fearful that this will expose my kids and dog to strangers. I strongly believe that this will pose a grave danger to my family. This is a bigger problem for me than for other residents because my property is directly bordering this once quiet agricultural land. But, the concerns also apply to many families who live on Boston Road. Restaurant patrons, party goers, those who have attended events at this facility will be on the road driving very near to my home and my children.

Wow, thinking about this scenario just sends chills down my spine.
