Music Composition Workshop Coming To Roudenbush

Summer Wild Food Foraging:, Nutritional and medicinal value in cooking, foraging safety, sustainable foraging and preservation tips, will be covered, as well as foraging wild plants and letting participants touch, smell, taste, and collect them. Participants will need to bring plastic bags to collect greens, paper or cloth bags for seeds and mushrooms, insect repellent, and bottled water. Shears, a pocket knife or digging tool can be brought for digging for roots. July 18 Monday 6 to 7:30 pm. $26/$23.

 

Music Composition Workshop Ages 6 to 10 is a new program this summer.

Learn to become a composer and learn basic music theory, notation, genre composition and instrument range to create a short original work. All original works will be performed at the conclusion of the workshop in a final recital on July 29 at 11:40 a.m.  Materials fee of $5 payable to instructor. July 25 to July 29, Monday through Friday 9 to 11 a.m. $125/$123

 

Printmaking for Young People for Grades 1-6 is a new program this summer.

Young artists will love using tiles, vellum, glass, wood and foam to create beautiful real and abstract images.  A great chance to experiment with many tactile and unusual art materials.  $7 supply fee due first class. Smock needed.

Grades 1 to 4 July 25 through July 27, Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. $123/$120

Grades 3 to 6 July 28 and July 29, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. $111/$108

 

Kitchen Kamp: Ages 9-12 Is your child interested in the kitchen? Whether they spend a little or a lot of time in the kitchen, they will have fun creating and trying new recipes, learning how to make a meal and of course eating what they make. July 11 through July 13 Monday through Wednesday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. $121/$118 $7 supply fee payable to instructor.

 

Choosing a College Search and Selection: How does one go about narrowing the field of thousands of options to just the right school?  What about student-athletes, special education students or other specific circumstances?  What are the changes in the Common Application, and should a student apply early?  This session aims to demystify the postsecondary planning process, decrease stress and increase communication. July 26 Tuesday 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. $24/$21 Individual, $29/$26 Family

 

It’s All About Summer Art Workshop: Enjoy the process of making summer art; explore materials and techniques, focusing on summer subjects. The instructor will survey the class in advance for ideas on what makes summer great, and will try to incorporate some of those ideas!

Grades 3 to 6 July 14 through July 15 Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. $111/$108

Grades K to 2 July 20 through July 22 Wednesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. $123/$120

 

Legos Robotics Summer Program 2016 Grades 3-5: This specially designed summer program will introduce your child ages 8 to 10 to the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  Developed by Tufts University Center for Engineering and Educational Outreach.
