Around The 01886: Latest Westford Academy Athletic Hall of Fame Has Been Announced

The latest Westford Academy Athletic Hall of Fame has been announced…

The induction is set for Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Franco-American Club, 55 West Prescott St., Westford, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $40 each, $300 for a table of eight. Tickets will be available in September.

This year’s class includes Chris Fowler (Class of 2009 – cross country, indoor track, track and field), Peter Lynch (Class of 2009 – basketball, baseball), Abby McKeon (Class of 2009 – tennis), A.J. Millet (Class of 2009 – soccer), Roberta (Smith) Rey, (Class of 1987 – soccer, basketball, softball), Al Duffet (athletic director, teacher, coach), Liz (Lahme) Hathaway (Class of 1985 – field hockey, basketball, softball), Sam Grad (Class of 2009 – soccer, indoor track, track and field), Bob Herrmann (Class of 1963 – football, wrestling), and Paul MacMillan (Class of 1964 – contributor)

Grad’s induction will be posthumous.

The induction will also honor the 2003-04 girls ice hockey team, the Division 2 state champions.


The Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project… is returning to Westford to spray for mosquitoes today, as well as the next two Tuesdays and the next three Thursdays.

More information about where the spraying will take place can be found at cmmcp.org. Any residents seeking to have their property excluded from spraying can call 508-393-3055 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
