A public forum to discuss multi-family housing along Route 110 in Westford will take place on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. at Stony Brook School, 9 Farmer Way.

At the meeting, members of the Affordable Housing Committee will present information about multi-family housing along Route 110, including a detailed fiscal impact analysis that considers balancing needed housing with the potential financial burdens on the town.

Westford’s 2009 Comprehensive Master Plan calls for the town to
investigate zoning for multi-family development along Route 110. The Affordable
Housing Committee (AHC) and the Master Plan Implementation Committee (MPIC)
have been discussing this action item over the last 18 months.

In 2016, the town received a grant from the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments to fund a public conversation about this topic. At a May hearing participants discussed the significance of multi-family housing for Westford and the state.

The May forum also allowed participants to express their opinions about the
design and style of multi-family buildings.
