HOLIDAY HOURS: The Library will be open on Monday, July 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In honor of Independence Day the library will be closed on Tuesday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The library will re-open Wednesday, July 5 at 10 a.m.

 Monday Murder Mystery Book Club: Monday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the Mary Atwood Hall. Wake up your week with a stimulating book discussion. This month’s selection is The Life We Bury by Allen Eskens. Copies are available for checkout at the Main Desk of the Library. Newcomers are always welcome, drop in.

 Teen & Tween Mini Food Challenge: Tuesday, June 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Compete and create a selection of miniature food from cakes to croissants and win amazingly big prizes. Registration is required either by phone or online.

Books Build a Magical World Show with Mike Bent: Wednesday, June 28 at 1 p.m. Our Summer Reading Program kicks off with our favorite magician Mike Bent. This book themed show uses hilarious comedy, amazing magic, games, music, sound effects AND storytelling to motivate kids to get reading. Tickets ($2) for children and adults are available by phone or in person. This program is for ages 4 and up.

Hank and Tom’s Old Time Fiddle Music: Thursday, June 29 at 7 p.m.  Enjoy a “family friendly” fiddle concert with Tom from ‘The Toe Jam Puppet Band’ and his amazing son Hank. Tom and Hank play traditional Fiddle Tunes & Songs from the foot hills of Appalachia to New England.  Look for their suitcase full of instruments for the audience to play with, so they can join in on the musical fun. FREE!  Open to all ages! We’ll meet on the Library back lawn by the parking lot. If it rains, we will be in the Meeting Room. This program is generously funded by the Friends of the Library.

 Tall Ships and Pirate Tales with the Sciencetellers: Thursday, July 6 at 1 p.m. Set sail on a thrilling action-packed adventure about a crew of quirky pirates marooned on a desert island. With mutiny and high-tide looming, they must rescue their salty captain and find a way to construct a ship before all hope is lost … at sea! Volunteers from the audience will help explore the incredible science behind clouds, combustion, air pressure, scientific variables and more! Tickets ($2) for children and adults are available by phone or in person. This program is for ages 5 and up. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for funding this program.
