Here are three local things to do this week.

Take Photos of Pretty Things

It’s not too late to enter the Summer Funfest photo contest. WestfordCAT, Westford Family FunFest, and Whole Foods are sponsoring a seasonal competition, asking residents to take photos of their vegetable, fruit and flower gardens. Submissions can be made to funfest@westford.org through Sept. 1. Voting on the WestfordCAT Facebook page will run from Sept. 5 to the 10. Find details at WestfordCATNews.org. For additional information, residents may call the WestfordCAT studios at 978.692.7152.

Watch a Movie Under the Stars

Friday is family-friendly movie night at Forge Beach, courtesy of the Westford Recreation Department. The next movie will be shown on Aug. 18 at dusk. The flick is a surprise! According to Recreation Department Office Manager Rozanne Fredkin, licensing issues prevents the department from announcing the name of the movie in advance. Attendees are asked to bring a blanket, chairs, and bug spray. Forge beach is located just off of Pleasant Street. For more information visit WestfordRec.com.

Go to a Rock Concert

The Rock `N Blues band Loose Connection is performing at the NARA amphitheater in Acton on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. Attendees are asked to bring a chair, blanket, and bug spray. The venue is located at 25 Ledge Rock Way in Acton. For more information, residents can visit acton-ma.gov for more information.
