State Rep. James Arciero recently invited the membership of Westford’s Senior, Low-Income, Disabled Tax Relief (SLIDTR) Committee to meet with the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Revenue regarding real estate tax relief for Westford residents. The committee was formed following the 2017 Annual Westford Town Meeting to review potential tax relief for Westford residents facing challenges with real estate taxes.

Meeting with Revenue Committee Chairman Jay Kaufman of Lexington and his committee legal and  research staff, the purpose of the meeting was to discuss pending tax relief legislation, its prospect for passage this legislative session, as well as, efforts put forth by other municipalities across the state to address this issue through special legislation.    Following the conclusion of their meetings, the SLIDTR Committee will make recommendations for consideration at the spring 2018 Annual Westford Town Meeting.

Attending  the meeting from SLIDTR Committee were Chairman Thomas Spuhler, Vice Chairwoman Annette Cerullo, Paul Fassbender and  Donald Costley.
