An overnight nor’easter that began late at night on March 7 and continued into March 8 took down trees and put more than 87,000 National Grid customers across Middlesex County out of power for as long as three days.
More than 90 percent [or 8,606 customers] of Westford residents were without electricity in the immediate aftermath of the storm. By the late afternoon of Friday, March 9 that number had been reduced to 61 percent or 6,041 customers, according to a fact sheet distributed by National Grid officials.
