Ukulele Strum-Along: You Learn to Play by Playing: Sat., April 21 at 2 p.m. Focusing on two and three chord songs, this program is for the beginner ukulele player who wants to practice and play music with others. Singing is encouraged. Ukuleles available to borrow, songs projected onto a screen so no music stands or books necessary. This new program will meet on a monthly basis. Open to adults and teens.

Bimonthly Knitting Group: Mon., April 23 at 6:30 p.m.  Residents can drop in to our informal knitting group. The group meets the second Monday of the month from 3-5 p.m. and the fourth Monday of the month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This is a drop-in program that is open to all ages. Bring your latest project and share advice and socialize with other knitters.

Mystery Book Club: Monday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. The book club meets once a month on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Mary Atwood Room. The April selection is “The Bookseller” by Mark Pryor. Copies of the current selection are available for check-out at the Main Desk. New Members are welcome. No registration required. 

Advanced Snap Circuits and Take-aparts: Friday, April 27 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. We have five exciting Snap Circuits kits to play with: RC Cars, Light, Motion, Arcade, and 3-D Illumination. Preregister online. This free program is for children in grades 3 to 5.

Life Cycle Gardening: Gardening for a Lifetime with Master Gardener, Betty Sanders: Thursday, April 26 at 7 p.m. Sanders shows attendees how to reconfigure their gardens for new uses as their families grow and  life and interests change. She says it’s a matter of plant selection and design. Register through our website or the Information Services Department at 978-399-2304.

J.V. Fletcher Adult Book Discussion Group: Thursday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. The book group will discuss “The Hello Girls” by Elizabeth Hoffman Cobbs.  Copies of the current reading selection are available for check-out at the Main Desk.  New members are always welcome.  No registration is required.

Town Wide Yard Sale: Book Donations: Residents participating in the town-wide yard sale on April 29 are asked to donate leftover books, DVDs, audiobooks or LPs to the Friends of the library for the next book sale. When the library is open, residents can leave items at the Janiece Greenberg door: it’s the first door on the left after entering the back entrance.  When the library is closed, residents can leave donations in the large, marked container by the back door.

 Westford Job Seekers:  This group is for residents and others who are about to start a job search or are in the midst of looking for a new job.

Most people know that the best way to find a job is through networking. The J. V.
