The Spoon Man: Saturday, Aug. 4 at 2 p.m.: Stories, music, and mayhem: guaranteed to be a wild and stirring performance by the hilarious Spoon Man. Tickets ($2) for children and adults are available in the Children’s room. This program is for all ages.
A Royal Reception: Monday, Aug. 6 at 1 p.m.: Three favorite princesses will tell their personal princess story, sing favorite songs, and have their pictures taken with participants. Attendees should come dressed as their favorite character – princesses not required. Tickets ($2) for children and adults are available in the Children’s room. This program is for all ages.
Teen & Tween Design-It Challenge, Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 1 p.m. Participants who create a musical instrument from the art supplies may win a prize. Treats will be served, and Grand Prizes raffled. This free program is for students in grades 5 to 12. Registration not required.
End of Summer Reading Bash with the Toe Jam Puppet Band: Thursday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. Participants can expect a rollicking, high energy show offering original music filled with laughs and fun. They are asked to bring a blanket and dancing shoes. Cake will be served at 1:30 p.m.; the performance begins at 2 p.m. and takes place outside on the back lawn. This free drop-in program is for all ages. Rain moves the concert inside the library and attendees are asked to eat before arriving.
J.V. Fletcher Adult Book Discussion Group: Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Participants are invited to discuss “Caroline” by Sarah Miller. Copies of the current reading selection are available for check-out at the Main Desk. New members are always welcome. No registration is required.
Unraveling America’s Musical Roots with Craig Harris: Thursday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. Participants can enjoy this multimedia, participatory program with musician and author Craig Harris. Combining archival audio/film, well-researched storytelling, and collective music-making, this program runs the gamut from old-time Appalachian fiddlers and bluegrass banjo players to Americana experimenters and beyond. Participants can register through our Meeting Room calendar or call the Information Services Department at 978-399-2304. Open to all ages.
Gaiam Workout Videos on Overdrive : The Overdrive collection now offers a simultaneous-use collection of 25 workout videos from Gaiam, Inc. These videos teach skills such as yoga, pilates, and tai chi, and also include kid-friendly titles. Simultaneous use means all titles are always available – no holds, no wait. Overdrive also includes e-books, audiobooks, videos, and digital magazines.
