Contra dancers got a taste of Westford culture on Dec. 29 when they gathered at the Parish Center for the Arts.

Don Heinold did the calling and Oh, CONTRAire! provided live music.

Organized by resident Mike Harde, the barn dances for adults are held on the fourth Saturday of every month. A family dance takes place once monthly on Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. Both meet at the PCA.

Contra dancing is a form of folk dancing characterized by line formations.

The next Saturday night dance will take place on Jan. 26.  A family barn dance for all ages will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, 3 to 5 p.m.
