Ryan has not released the woman’s name.

The body was discovered just before noon on Saturday in the vicinity of 104 Providence Road. The road extends across Main Street with the south side dead ending at Interstate 495.

Just off Providence is Drew Crossing — a neighborhood of residential homes bordered by marshland that buffers the highway in the distance.

The death is suspicious, according to a statement Ryan issued on Saturday, because of the location in which the body was found and because the woman was not dressed warmly enough for the cold temperatures.

The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
