LETTER TO THE EDITOR: No Longer Wishes to Serve on WestfordCAT Board of Directors

I was asked to submit my name for consideration as a Board member of WestfordCAT. As I am a long time health and wellness writer and producer for the station and the online news publication, I did so in an effort to support the staff and the station.
I have now withdrawn my application from consideration for the Board of Directors of Westford CAT.
I attended the special meeting Wednesday evening, Feb. 12, at the Millennium School. Given the current board members I witnessed that night and the dynamics of those members, board membership is not something for which I am willing to be considered.
It is unfortunate an organization that has been growing in recent years has been subjected to the severing of the lifeline that has occurred.
After Wednesday evening’s display, I do not have confidence in the transparency of the board.
I hope to continue to contribute to Westford CAT, but even that is in question at this point. With no professionals at the helm to monitor and direct, there is risk of liability for anyone writing or producing content for the station. — Cheryl Major, Thin Strong Healthy
