The Salon at 142 will re-open on Tuesday, May 27 and appointments are filling up, said owner Michele Martel.
“Everybody’s doing online bookings,” she said, adding that her color tip program — a self-help way of coping with hair in need of attention will continue until the end of June.
Like beauty parlors across the state, The Salon at 142 had to shut its doors in mid-March when Governor Charlie Baker called a state of emergency and required employees across the board to work from home. With everyone in the country advised to social distance themselves from each other, the type of service offered by hairdressers — who work in close proximity to their clients — didn’t have that choice.
Martel posted the guidelines she and other salon owners will be required to practice when her doors open again.
Editor’s Note: WestfordCAT is raising funds to bridge a budget gap at the TV station by encouraging residents to purchase gift cards at small businesses around town. The cards will then be raffled off at an online auction beginning June 8. Gift cards at The Salon at 142 can be purchased for $25 to $400.
