I want to thank Westford Community Access TV for the contribution they make to bring the news to Westford residents. I never realized the effort put in to cover an event and broadcast it live.
Sunday’s Town Meeting was an opportunity for me to learn what really goes into the setup needed for such a broadcast. Over two days it took three people more than six hours to setup the miles of cables, three remote cameras, and a communication system so that camera operators could be connected live to the truck.
The broadcast needed three camera operators and a staff person to coordinate the coverage from the control center. Then, it took four people over an hour to break down all of the equipment.
Hats off to Westford CAT staff, volunteers, and to Sarah Fletcher, Acting Executive Director, for pulling it all together and delivering professional live coverage for Westford residents. — Alden Wood, Westford resident
