Residents Concerned With STEM Facilities, Fire Drills, School Lunches, Dress Codes

The School Committee began with praise for Westford Academy’s Shiva Nathan and his brother Vishwa.

Shiva said there should be more facilities for engineering classes at Westford Academy.

Sheldon LeBlanc, a resident and substitute teacher, also had concerns on several issues.

Addressing Blanchard Rumors, Data Disagreements, Capital Planning

From 8 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., the Committee heard about rumors from a small minority of parents about the Blanchard School’s new teacher in addition to talk about developing data sets to figure out how much to pay teachers and upcoming school tours to see what capital spending needs will be requested.

Drilling Down This School Year’s Goals

Superintendent Bill Olsen gave more details on his goals for the year, which were approved by a 5-2 vote.

Assistant Superintendent Kerry Clery gave her goals for the year, and talk of trying to gain an upgrade from a “Level 2” to a “Level 1” district
