Westford to Earn $37,860 in Insurance Credits

In a released statement on Friday morning, the Town of Westford has announced it will save taxpayers $37,860 after through a voluntary program with the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA).

The money will be applied to lower 2015  insurance premiums and were gained through a series of loss control measures and administrative procedures as well as free seminars by the MIAA to promote lower risk among employees.

“MIIA is pleased to partner with our members to help establish effective and cost-saving best practices, and to reward them each year for implementing such innovative loss control programs,” said Stanley Corcoran, Executive Vice President of MIIA. “Congratulations to Westford for working proactively to mitigate risk, lower potential municipal liability, and reduce municipal taxpayer burden.”
