Citizens’ Advisory Council Members Wanted to Study Kindergarten Issue

Westford School Superintendent Bill Olsen released a notice earlier this week looking for parents and community members for an upcoming Citizens’ Advisory Committee on Kindergarten issues.

According to the notice, the Committee will research “the purpose of analyzing research and longitudinal achievement differentials between students in full-day versus half-day kindergarten programs in urban and non-urban school districts.”

Five community members and parents will join Olsen and three staff members in building a study on full-day kindergarten to present to the School Committee.

More information on the proposed committee is available at the Westford School Department website.

Anyone interested is asked to send an e-mail Olsen at bolsen@westfordk12.us with the title “Kindergarten CAC”, an explanation of why they would like to serve and an attached resume.

Membership on the Committee will be approved in August.
