Tickets may be purchased at the door, one hour prior to each show.

This sparkling musical is based on the enduring story of Anne Shirley, a young orphan girl, age 11, whom Mark Twain called “the most delightful child of fiction since the immortal Alice.”  Anne is mistakenly sent to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, a middle-aged brother and sister who have a farm on Prince Edward Island and who had intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm.  Through its charming story and lively songs, the musical recounts how Anne makes her way with the Cuthberts, in school and within the town.  This humorous and heartwarming rendition of the classic story, Anne of Green Gables is an ideal family musical.

unnamed“Anne of Green Gables the Musical” is proudly presented by the hardworking students of Blanchard Theatre Arts, now in its sixth season.  This production is directed by Karen Sacco, along with assistant director Liza LaBossiere, and musical directors, Deb Benschneider and Laurie Oliver.  The musical features over 90 Blanchard Middle School students, including a cast of 36 and a technical crew of 55 students.  Blanchard Theatre Arts prides itself on giving its middle school students the opportunity to learn and grow through cooperating as a team, taking risks onstage, working independently backstage, and assuming responsibilities in all creative and technical aspects of a theatrical production.
