This month, Sonus Networks announced general availability of the Sonus Diameter Signaling Controller: Software edition (DSC SWe).

Diameter signaling controllers route data such as text messages and e-mails through telecommunications networks. Sonus believes that this new, virtualized version of their DSC will provide more flexibility as 4G networks continue to grow exponentially.

The Sonus DSC SWe allows service providers to capitalize on virtualization without losing the exceptional performance, features and security critical to their business,” said David Tipping, vice president and general manager, Products, Sonus. “Sonus offers a comprehensive portfolio of virtualized applications, including the Diameter Signaling Controller, Session Border Controller, and policy and routing management. Sonus customers can move seamlessly between hardware and software solutions, with assurance that network investments are fully protected.”

Sonus’ headquarters facility is located on Technology Park Drive in Westford. More information on Sonus is available at www.sonus.net
