The Town of Westford is searching for a new deputy Fire Department Chief after voters approved funding for the position earlier this Spring at Town Meeting.
A notice was released on May 1 advertising the position, which currently includes 18 regular job responsibilities, mainly revolving around helping the Fire Department Chief and overseeing day-to-day operations of the Fire Department.
However, the release did indicate that other duties may be assigned to the new deputy chief in the future.
The position will require a bachelor’s degree in fire science and public administration, an EMT certification as well as firefighter I and II certifications and approximately seven years experience as a firefighter.
According to the Town Meeting warrant, the position will pay somewhere between $68,130 and $97,463.
More information on the position can be found at the town’s website.
