The Westford Willows are off to a quick start, beginning the 2015 Central New England Baseball Association season with four wins out of their first five games.

After a 1-0 loss to the South Central Express in the first part of a doubleheader, the Willows bounced back to split that doubleheader and sweep another doubleheader at Westford Academy against Blackstone valley.

Westford also earned a 9-5 victory at home against the Clinton 76ers on May 26.

Their 4-1 start leaves them only behind Ronnie’s of Worcester in the CNEBA standings.

This year’s club has seven Grey Ghost alums honing their skills now that the collegiate season is over: Ryan Thompson (Southern New Hampshire University), Alex Cloutier (Westfield State University), Luke Morse (Endicott College), Ryan Pocock (Brandeis University), Chris Underwood (Plymouth State University), Connor Murphy (Baldwin Wallace University), Zach Robins (Southern New Hampshire University) and Will Alden (Bentley University).

The Willows now travel to Lunenburg on June 3, followed by another doubleheader against South Central on Saturday, June 6, this time at Westford Academy.

The first game of the doubleheader is expected for noon.
