Lowell Hospital has once again been recognized as one of the state’s “Healthiest Employers,” according to the latest issue of Boston Business Journal.
Ranked 14th in the Large Company category (500 or more employees), the BBJ noted the hospital’s Connect to Wellness online portal as an example of the hospital’s commitment to the health and wellness of its more than 3,600 employees. The portal provides tools, resources and a health assessment, which empowers employees to take charge of their health and monitor their progress.
Lowell General Hospital has developed a strategic employee health and wellness plan using the concept of a wellness journey for employees. A central piece of this plan is the hospital’s annual Spring into Action employee team challenge, which centers around three focus areas – Movement with a Mission, Nutritional Wellness and Mental Well-Being. The winning team was featured on the cover of the hospital’s annual employee wellness brochure.
This is the third time in the last four years the Boston Business Journal has selected Lowell General Hospital as a finalist for this honor. The BBJ has also selected Lowell General as one of the region’s “Best Places to Work” four years running.
