Several Cooking Classes Coming Up At The Roudenbush

Cooking From Pictures (Ages 3 to 5) – Each day will start with a set of pictures and they will be our recipe for the day.  As we make all of our delicious recipes, your little chef will soon learn to follow recipes through pictures.  May 18 to June 8 (4 Wednesdays), 10 to 11a.m.  $63/$60

RoudenbushCook Out Extras – Get ready for picnic season.  Let’s create fresh healthy side salads to accompany our grill food.  Wednesday, May 18, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  $32/$29

Fusion Baking – Girl’s Night Out – Have you ever considered combining your favorite cocktail with a cupcake, or cross a brownie with a cheesecake?  The results of combining the different sweet flavors is fusion baking.  We will be combining some unusual staples to create the most decadent sweets.  $48/$45  Tuesday, June 7, 7 to 9 p.m.

Spring Forage to Table – Join us on a foraging walk in the woods around Roudenbush to collect wild plants and learn how to identify, prepare and preserve them.  Learn what herbs will help with first aid, colds, health issues and how to use them.  We emphasize sustainable foraging, collecting highly nutritious invasive and renewable plants.    Saturday, May 7, 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Immersion Spanish (Ages 3 to 5)- Lessons will have age appropriate activities that will teach children basic vocabulary, short simple sentences and Latin American culture.  Activities encourage comprehension, speaking and play through singing, making music, games and story time feature Spanish books.  May 20 to June 17 (5 Fridays) 10 to 11 a.m. $78/$75

Town Wide Yard Sale – Saturday, April 30 at Abbot School front lawn or at your home.  List of participating addresses will be available next week.  $10 donation to Roudenbush.  9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Introduction to Cold Process Soap Making – Students will be introduced to the basics of making cold process soap by blending oils with a lye mixture.  You will learn the equipment needed, safety, recipes, instruction on ingredients, and coloring.  Student will make 1 lb batch of soap and go home with comprehensive handouts.  $68/$65, Tuesday, May 3, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Material fee of $20 payable to instructor.

Running 101 – Are you new to running and want to learn how to run?  Are you a current runner but want to get faster or run without pain?  Are you an athlete who wants to sprint faster? We will address core stability, upper/lower body strength and arm/leg mechanics through each phase of running.  You will learn to run more efficiently and pain free.  For all levels.  May 16 to June 13, 4 Mondays and 4 Wednesdays, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.  $92/$89

A Little Weight, A Lot of Benefits (for Adults and Teens) – Adding a small amount of weight training can provide big benefits.  This program is ideal for moms, daughters, or any woman who wants to increase her energy level and maintain a healthy body weight. June 20 to July 25 (5 Mondays and 5 Thursdays) 7:45 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.  $102/$99

Nimble & Nifty over 50 – This class is designed for those 55 and over looking for a fun fitness environment.  Learn to build strength, balance, coordination and muscle mass all in a small group setting.  April 29 to May 27 (5 Fridays) 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.  $53/$50.
