Mark your calendar as the 2016 Apple Blossom Festival starts this Wednesday, May 11th and goes to Sunday May 15th. The Westford Kiwanis offers good old-fashioned carnival fun and the best carnival rides from Fiesta Shows. Do not miss the Westford Against Substance Abuse Ice Cream Social on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  The well attended Battle of the Bands will be held on Friday May 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in the Abbot Gym. Saturday morning at 10 AM the annual Apple Blossom Festival Parade kicks off with bands, Apple Blossom Queens, floats and frivolity. And, again this year we have planned a spectacular fireworks display put on by American Thunder Fireworks on Saturday night at 9:30 PM.  Parking and entry to the carnival is free. There is a charge for carnival rides and midway games.

The official listing of events during this festival is posted on the Westford Kiwanis web page at: westford.org/kiwanis/  A few events are weather dependent and any necessary updates will be posted on this web site. Viewers and participants in the Apple Blossom Parade should be aware that many of the roads near the Town Common will close prior to the start of the parade.  Please check the General Parade Guidelines posted on the Westford Kiwanis site for road closing details.  A detailed map of the parade route and starting location of all parade participants can be found on the Kiwanis web page under Parade Line Up Details.

The Westford Kiwanis have strived to make this festival a safe and friendly place for young people to have fun.  Parents should feel secure in being able to drop off their children at this festival and know that all rides have been inspected by state officials prior to the festival and that there is a Westford police presence at the festival at all times.

Have a great time with family and friends, celebrate Spring and our great community at the Apple Blossom Festival.
