Date: Friday evening, 4/29

Opponent: Wilmington 4A GU10-5

Score: Westford 5  Wilmington 0

The Westford Cheetahs played their most complete game of the season on Friday evening, against a worthy Wilmington team. Displaying several offensive outbursts and a rock-solid defense, the Cheetahs took a step forward as a team.

Kaylee Moore scored early and often, tallying a hat trick on the evening. On two occasions, she was able to power her way past defenders and keeper to walk into the net. On the third, she was fed a brilliant crossing pass by Courtney Witsch that she buried. Sophia Sacco made the most of a direct free kick just outside the penalty box, smashing a shot past the goaltender and Keilana daRosa closed out the scoring on a nice lead pass from Bailey Dyer.

All players deserve mention for their consistent passing, communication, and positioning throughout the game, but a few had standout performances, including Leela Kapur, Hazel Belge, and Erin Mammola. Our goalies, Keira Grenier and Ava Janko both made several nail-biting saves preserving the clean sheet!

The effort on both sides outweighed the result, as it should be at this level, and both teams left the pitch with smiles on their faces.
