Westford’s Jonnalagada Finishes Second In National Geography Bee

He might not be the champion, but the Stony Brook School’s Saketh Jonnalagada is still happy with his performance at National Geographic’s 28th National Geography Bee.

Jonnalagada, the Massachusetts champion, finished second and earned a $25,000 scholarship.

The champion, 12-year-old Rishi Nair of Florida, earned a a $50,000 college scholarship, a lifetime membership to the National Geographic Society, and an all-expenses-paid trip for two to southeast Alaska.

The competition will air on Friday night at 8 p.m. in Westford on Channel 132 (Verizon) and 232 (Comcast)
