Girl Scout Troop 85009 – Food Pantry Donations requested for June 21st opening of Westford Farmers Market!
Girl Scout Troop 85009 will be at the June 21 Westford Farmers Market from 2:30 – 6:30 pm to remind the Community that the needs of the Westford Pantry is a year round issue. The Girls met with the Westford Rotary Club on Thursday, May 19 to about about their Bronze Award Project, which focuses on a community need, education and helping get this meed met year round. The Westford Rotary will be supporting this project too.
The Troop will have a booth at the opening day of the Westford Farmers Market to accept donations to the Pantry of non-perishable foods and educate the public on the importance of this project. On this day only, the Troop will be able to accept donations of fresh purchased produce from Market Basket or Whole Foods. This will help raise awareness of the efforts of the Westford Community Gardens to bring fresh food to all members of Westford.
