A Few Fun Things To Do In Westford This Month


Even though our WestfordCAT News program is on hiatus for a few weeks, we thought you’d still be interested in reading about some upcoming events around town. Here’s some happenings you won’t want to miss:

Summer Shopping Event at the HE Fletcher Social & Athletic Club

Saturday, August 6, 12-4 p.m. – Vendors from Pampered Chef, Agnes & Dora, Plexus, Mary Kay, Rodan & Fields, Jamberry Nails, 31 Gifts, Partylite, European Wax Center, Damsel In Defense, Lu La Roe and the Daly Planner. Plus cash bar, raffles, and FREE gifts! The Fletcher Club is located at 11 Brookside Road. $5 admission. Get there early for a “swag bag,” while they last.

Summer School for Performing Arts

  • Fri & Sat, August 5 at 4:00 p.m. and August 6 at 12:00 p.m. AS YOU LIKE IT presented by SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK at Westford Academy. Directed by Maggie Sulka. These performances are free to attend and open to the public.
  • Thur – Sat, August 11, 12 at 7:30 p.m., August 13 at 6:00 p.m. YELLOW FEVER THE MUSICAL

Adult Evening Rowing

Mon & Wed – August 8 – September 7, 6 – 7:30 p.m. –  For adults who are interested in learning and practicing the sport of rowing in a fun, team environment with professional coaching. Participants will learn all of the basics of the sport including sweep rowing (1 oar per person), sculling (2 oars per person), and proper handling and care of the equipment. Those who have participated in at least one session will be eligible to compete with a coach’s approval. $150 to register. Visit www.westfordrec.com.

Blues n’ Brews

Sat & Sun, August 20-21, 2016 – The 15th Annual Blues N Brews Festival will be held at Nashoba Valley Ski Area. Tickets range from $30-$60. Full information is available at www.bluesnbrewsrotary.org

4H Fair

Fri-Sun, August 26, 27 & 28 – The 2016 Middlesex County 4H Fair will be held at the 4H Fairgrounds on South Chelmsford Road, Westford. General admission is $8; Seniors and kids 4-9 are $6, and children under 3 are free. A 3-day pass is also available for $16. Visit: www.4Hmiddlesexfair.org for more information.
