Nashoba Youth Hockey Weekend Update

Bantam AA
The teams played a back-and-forth game in a close match up until Marblehead scored first with 1:24 left in the 1st period. The Grizzlies pressed hard in a scoreless 2nd period, which was underscored by a strong effort by defensemen Gannon Connolly and Alex Joos. Two minutes into the 3rd period Carlos Dion tied the game up 1-1 on a solo goal and 40 seconds later Scotty McCabe put in a goal, assisted by Kyle Doney and Gannon Connolly, to take the lead and control of the game. The two teams continued to battle, but the Grizzlies put the game out of reach for Marblehead when Peter Bonenfant scored, assisted by Scotty McCabe and Kyle Doney, and the game ended with the final score 3-1.

Bantam AAA
The Nashoba Grizzlies Bantam AAA team came back from an early two goal deficit to beat the Amesbury Bantam squad 5-4. Nashoba started their scoring in the 2nd period with two goals by Ben Hayes at 7:52 and 6:19, assisted by Evan Twombly on both goals. Scoring Nashoba’s 3rd goal was Justin Liona at 8:58 in the 3rd period. Hayes earned the hat trick with his 3rd goal of the game at 7:21 assisted by Matt Guy. Not stopping at just three goals, Hayes threw in a final goal for his 4th of the game at 6:20 in the 3rd. Tending net for Nashoba was Holden Lee.
