Officials at the Roudenbush Community Center announced, Nov. 8, the organization received a $5,000 grant awarded by the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation for the 2017 fiscal year. The support will allow Roudenbush with the Westford Food Pantry to help improve the eating habits of seniors on fixed incomes and low-income families with children.

Roudenbush offers low-income seniors and families programs and educational classes. Among them is “Cooking from the Pantry,” which teaches seniors and children and their families the importance of healthy eating.

The Roudenbush Community Center is a nonprofit organization serving Westford and the surrounding towns with daycare, preschool, after school and community education programs. Roudenbush’s mission brings educational enrichment to individuals, families, and communities in an inviting environment where there is always something new to explore. “Middlesex Savings Bank has always cared deeply about the communities we serve,” said Dana Neshe, president of the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation. “Through the Foundation grants, we are able to provide support to the people and organizations who work the hardest to both solve problems and create opportunities for our neighbors. We are pleased to support The Roudenbush Community Center this year with the awarded grant.”

The Westford Food Pantry is located at the Cameron Senior Center, at 20 Pleasant St.
