Luke Moran of Westford 01886 is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football team that has been chosen to participate in the Scotty Whitelaw Bowl Championship, a post-season contest in which it will face SUNY Maritime. The game is Sunday at 5pm and is part of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2016 Division III Football Bowl Championships at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. It is the first ever meeting between the two programs.

RPI, which is coached by Ralph Isernia, averages 21.3 points per game with 217.2 rushing yards and 69.3 passing yards per contest. The Engineers, who have played in the ECAC Playoffs in each of the past two years, allow 18.1 points, 170.2 rushing yards and 170.5 passing yards per contest.
The Engineers concluded the regular season on Saturday with a 21-12 victory over Union College in the Dutchman Shoes Trophy Game, giving them a 5-5 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the Liberty League. The Privateers are 6-4 with a 4-3 record in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC). SUNY Maritime won each of its final two games, including a 31-28 win at Gallaudet University on Saturday.
