Westford Host Families Sought for Chinese Students

-

Westford Academy Principal James Antonelli issued the following request on Dec. 22.  Contact information is below.
(More details: There will be about 30 Chinese students visiting Westford from Jan. 29 to Feb. 18. All are 10th graders. Their weekdays will be spent at Westford Academy. They will spend the weekends with their host families.)
10th grade students (15/16 yo)
11 students / 1 chaperone (30 ish)
1/29 – 2/18
They will go to school at Westford Academy M-F. They will have time at night and on the week end to spend with the host family. They may also try to plan an event for host families and another event for just the kids…Maybe a Celtics game for the kids.
Good morning,

We are very close to filling all of the placement for our visitors from China. That said, we still have more students that need to be placed.  If you can help us out and host a short term visit, it would be appreciated.

DETAILS

Westford Academy is delighted to participate in a short-term cultural exchange program with gphomestays sister company Knowledge Link.

Welcome an international student from China as part of a vibrant cultural exchange program by hosting a participant. We are looking for host families living in Westford who are interested in the rewarding experience of hosting.

If you’ve thought about hosting an international student, this three-week program is a great way to experience our program on a short-term basis.

During the school day students will be immersed in the Westford Academy community, attending classes and participating in our one-on-one ambassador program.

STIPEND

A stipend of $800 per student will be provided.

REQUIREMENTS

This program differs from our long-term program in that students can share a bedroom. Host families can host up to three students. The host family will need to provide a safe, nurturing environment as well as:~

  • Three meals a day
  • Transportation to and from school
