Jeffrey Stephens took over Westford’s Health Department on Jan. 9, immediately following the retirement of Sandy Collins.
Stephens had been the town’s director of environmental services since August 2015. Prior to that he had served as a health agent in Fitchburg for 15 years.
In Fitchburg he served as the sanitary code enforcement inspector, Title V system inspector, soil evaluator, lead paint inspector, constable, animal health inspector, and state approved Massachusetts Public Health Inspector Training housing field trainer.
He holds a 1996 bachelor’s of science degree in biology and environmental science from Fitchburg State University. His 1998 certificates in land survey are from the University of Lowell.
