Be a Basketball Phenomenon Grades 3 and Up: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays Jan. 28 to Mar. 4. Souleymane Wayne, who helped UConn win its first National Championship, will teach students the mechanics of basketball, how to shoot, pass, play defense and practice on their own. Cost: $158/$155.

Oh My Aching Back: 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31. Dr. David LeClerc, D.C. will explain why 80 percent of Americans experience some type of low back pain, and what can be done about it in a safe, natural and effective way. Cost: Free. Participants must still register.

Toxins in Personal Care Products: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25.  Europe bans over 1300 known toxins, and the U.S, only bans 11.  The words Pure, Natural and Organic have no legal meaning.  They can say that on the front of the bottle and still contain toxins.  Sign up for an informative evening, Cost: Free, Participants must still register.

Mommy and Me Clay Time-Newborn and Up: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27. Great sensory fun with your little ones. This class invites moms, dads, or caretakers and their children to create milestone memorabilia. We will use our hands and feet, air dry clay, and paints, to make mementos & wall hangings.  Wonderful for both parents and children to cherish as they grow older. Cost: $28/$25, adult with 1 child, $10, each additional child.

Clay Play Ages 5 and Up: 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30. In this one hour pottery workshop you will learn basic of hand building and pottery painting, with an air dry clay. We work with each individual to help create a fun sculpture, dish or pot. You will learn the different techniques of design and painting. Everyone will bring home a completed piece of pottery. Cost: $38/$35, adult with 1 child, $10 each additional child.

Smart Defense: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21. You will be learning self-defense tactics to escape dangerous situations and will be doing so through adrenaline based scenarios.  This will be a hands on class, and the instructor will be padded up. Great for teens and women, and those heading off to college next fall. Cost $52/$49.

Pre-School Chefs Ages 3 to 5: 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 25 to Feb. 15. These tiny chefs will learn cooking skills like spreading, stacking, tearing, pouring, measuring, mixing and cutting while having fun and creating masterpieces with food. Cost: $66/$63

Grade School Chef Ages 6 to 9: 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 24 to Feb. 14. These seasoned little chefs will be taught to cook on the stovetop, how to grate, use small appliances and sharper knives. Cost: $103/$100.

5 Keys to Successful Weight Loss: 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28.  This seminar will teach eating strategies and mind body techniques to help to help end struggles with food and weight. Cost $32/$29.

Beginner Fencing: 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. to 25 Apr. 5. Cost: $106/$103

Intermediate Fencing: 8 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 25 to Apr. 5. Cost: $106/$103

Advanced Fencing: 9 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 25 to Apr. 5. Cost: $106/$103

Tiny Dancers Pre-School Ballet, Ages 3 to 5: 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. Mondays, Jan. 23 to Mar. 6. An introductory ballet class for young students. Children will be taught both freestyle and organized dance moves.  Recital on last day of class.  Cost $91/$88.

 Charming Club: 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan 25 to Feb. 15. Kids 7-12 can work on their fine motor skills as they make fun themed charms out of polymer clay.  Baked and glazed in house for immediate take home treasures.  Materials fee of $5 due to instructor at first class. Cost: $83/$80.

Group Conditioning: 9:10 to 10:10 a.m. Mondays, Jan. 23 to Mar. 6. A complete AM workout set to music, designed to strengthen all the major muscles in the body, while boosting metabolism.  Safe for all ages and fitness levels. Cost: $78/$75.
