March Madness Sale at the Cameron!

Trudy’s Boutique, the non-profit thrift shop at Westford’s Cameron Senior Center, is running a half price sale, Monday-Friday, Feb. 27-March 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  During the sale, all clothing, household goods and décor – everything except jewelry and specialty items – will be 50 percent off.

Open to the public, Trudy’s Boutique is staffed entirely by volunteers and all proceeds raised support the programs, activities and outreach services of the Cameron Senior Center.  Located on the second floor of the Cameron, 20 Pleasant St., Westford, the shop is handicapped accessible and reachable via an elevator.

Donations of in-season clothing and clean, usable household items are gratefully welcomed year-round.  For more information, residents are asked to call 978-692-5523.

Downsizing: Windows of Opportunity

Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.

Kathy Cunningham of Coldwell Banker will share her personal and professional experience dealing with the sometimes daunting task of transitioning to a new home environment and how to make those tough decisions on getting rid of items, organizing and keeping the family intact and comfortable through this challenges of downsizing. The session is open to all ages.  Residents are asked to call Annette, Outreach coordinator at 978-399-2326– to reserve a seat.

HOLI Festival

Wednesday, March 15 at 11 a.m.

Residents are invited to celebrate HOLI the Hindu Spring Festival also known as Festival of Color and Love in India and Nepal. Participants will experience some of the traditional foods which will include Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice, Kidney beans, Nan and Samosa. After eating lunch participants will make a special craft reflective of the cheerful celebration of letting go, laughing and smiling.  Participants are encouraged to wear bright colors.  Cost is $6. Lowell General Series at the Cameron: Stress Management with Self Hypnosis

Participants will learn strategies for coping with stress. They will explore techniques for relaxation, breathing, meditation, affirmation, and visualization. Held the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Participants are asked to RSVP to Lowell General by calling 1-877-544-9355.

New at the Cameron:  Book Club

Book for March is “A Dog’s Purpose” by Bruce Cameron. Discussion group meets third Tuesday of each month, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Great fun at the Movies

March 16 movie is “The Intern” starring Robert Deniro. Meets on the third Thursday of the month from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.  Residents are asked to RSVP by calling 978-692-5523.
