Chick Singer Night Showcases Female Talent, May 6

Chick Singer Night Boston will host its next talent music showcase benefit highlighting female singer/songwriters at the Parish Center for the Arts, 10 Lincoln Street, Westford, starting at 7 p.m.(doors open at 6:30 p.m.). The upcoming all-ages show on Saturday, May 6 will feature a talented line-up of established and emerging female artists including Emma Brazinski and Liv Freyman (both Westford 8th graders), Annie Baker, Ava Supplesa and ANNIKA (from the Boston area).

Director Jennifer Truesdale of Arlington and Co-Director Marcia J. Macres of Westford, both local musicians, entrepreneurs and music business owners, manage the Boston chapter of CSN. Tickets are available in advance for $15 either online at http://chicksingernightboston2017.brownpapertickets.com (plus small service fee) or from a CSN performer/Director. If not sold out in advance, there will be tickets available at the door for $20 cash.

There will be acoustic and band performances as well as artists being backed by the incredible CSN Boston House Band made up of seasoned musicians Joe Musella on guitar, Justin Kolack on bass, Andrew Beckman on keys and Jerry Velona on drums with guest saxophonist Jason Macres (also from Westford).

CSN Boston has donated  over $20,000 from proceeds from the singer/songwriter music showcase benefits to music-related non-profit organizations, thanks to their many generous supporters. CSN Boston will donate the proceeds from this 5/6/17 talent music showcase benefit to Friends Advancing Music Education (FAME), supporting music education at all grade levels of Westford Public Schools since 1983 with music related grants for supplies & equipment, student scholarships, recognition awards and more.

Sponsorship helps cover operating costs and permits donations of all ticket sales and extra to FAME. There are different levels of sponsorship that include tickets to the show, advertising in event program, listing on website/social media….

  • Platinum Sponsor –  $1,500.00
    • Includes 10 tickets with preferred seating, table top advertisement displayed at event, full page ad in program, company logo on promotional materials and CSN Boston website. Company supplied table top ad.
  • Gold Sponsor –  $750
    • Includes 5 tickets with preferred seating, table top advertisement displayed at event, full page ad in program.
  • Silver Sponsor – $500
    • Includes 4 tickets with preferred seating, 1/4 page ad in program, company logo on promotional materials and CSN Boston website.
  • Bronze Sponsor – $250 (can also combine a $100 raffle item(s) and pay $150)
    • Includes 2 tickets with preferred seating 1/4 page ad in program and acknowledgement on CSN Boston website.

Chick Singer Night:

Chick Singer Night (CSN) is an international non-profit organization with franchises in seventeen cities across the globe.  Now in its 27th year, CSN is the nation’s most notable original and longest-running songfest for female singer/songwriters and exists solely to promote up-and-coming young female talent, providing performance opportunities for all levels of experience and all styles of music by providing the venue and the band.  The event currently serves music communities in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Madison, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Jersey, New York and Stockholm, Sweden.  All CSN city directors donate their time and services to organize, promote, and host each show.  Since November 1988, thousands of women have been featured on CSN stages.  Supporters of the program include musicians Sheryl Crow, Paula Cole, Phoebe Snow, Lari White, Megan Mullally, LeAnn Rimes and Norah Jones.

Jennifer Truesdale – Director of Chick Singer Night Boston (Arlington, MA)

Jennifer Truesdale is a singer, songwriter, vocal coach and music career coach in Boston, Massachusetts. A graduate of Berklee College of Music and a 20+ year veteran of the music industry, she performs regularly with many of the top musicians on the East Coast.  Jennifer is a published songwriter, who has written, produced and performed on recordings for major network television shows including: All My ChildrenSoul FoodMelrose PlaceSunset BeachOne Life To Live and The Young and the Restless. As a member of the Rounder Records marketing and promotional team Jennifer earned gold and platinum albums and had the opportunity to work with such amazing artists as Alison Krauss, Susan Tedeschi, Roomful of Blues, Irma Thomas and many, many others.  In addition to her performing career, Jennifer is a professional vocal coach and music career coach and has worked with hundreds of singers, helping each to achieve their own personal goals.  Jennifer recently authored a book entitled, Get Paid To Sing! The Singer’s Guide to Making a Living Making Music.

Marcia J. Macres – Co-Director of Chick Singer Night Boston (Westford, MA)

Marcia J. Macres (pronounced Mar-SEE-ah) hails from a Dallas, TX, musical family of eight, performing regularly in four-part harmony at church and local community events. Marcia dabbled with various instruments in her youth, but found her passion in competitive a cappella choirs and then shifted to local community choruses when she moved to Boston in the late 80’s. Marcia enjoys being a lead vocalist for The Jazz Punishers and continues her love of harmonies as a backup vocalist for occasional tribute bands. Marcia enjoys all genres of music including jazz, blues, country, classic rock, pop, etc. Some influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Sarah Vaughan, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Diana Krall and Adele.  Also known as “Red” or “MJ”, Marcia has 25+ years experience in public relations and marketing and is owner of Marketing by Marcia, a project-based Marketing Communications consulting company that focuses on helping small businesses/venues/bands share the news of their business, products and events via Social Media, Online Marketing, Press Release, etc.
